Andrew ruffled his hair and sighed tirefully. “Yeah, man. I’ll be there.” After hanging his phone up, he slid it into his pants’ pocket and grabbed his black coat. He opened his window after he put on his coat, and feeling the very chilly air, he quickly buttoned it up. Taking a deep breath, he jumped out of his window and into the sky, cringing as it got colder as he went higher. Luckily the convenience store wasn’t too far away, and he landed an out of sight distance from Church.

“Hey,” Andrew said as he crossed the street to where Church stood, trying to keep his hands from shaking as he waved and thinking that he might move somewhere else for this winter.

Church stood there, hands in the pockets of his coat and with a smile slapped stupidly across his face. “Drew!” His eyes widen with excitement. Church loved seeing people he cared for… unlike his father. Shrugging the thought of his father off, he moved close to Andrew and pulled him into a friendly hug. Seconds into the hug, Church moved his face back and looked Andrew straight in the eyes. “Shall we go?” Never had Church seen Andrew fly and curiously enough, he had to ask as he pulled away.

“Did you drive here?” There was a slight tilt to Church’s head as he stood there in confusion.

Andrew smiled happily when Church said his name, and he gladly took the hug with open arms. Even though Church was taller than him, he still squeezed his arms tightly. “Go where, exactly?” Andrew asked in turn, thinking of places that were open at this time of day. There were only bars still open, and Andrew was sure to get busted if he tried to order something.

“No, I uh,” Andrew replied, then smiled when he remembered that he didn’t have to lie. “I flew here, but I think it might’ve been a mistake.” He hoped that his runny nose was because of the chilled air, not an impending sickness.

She was relieved to see he was taking it pretty normal, she was afraid that he would go screaming and running away. She smiled still a little nervous that he was going to do just that, “okay, good.” Keira’s face fell when he basically told her he had something up his sleeve, she didn’t know if she should be scared or excited. “What can you do?” she asked, “do you have powers?” She couldn’t believe the odds of two people finding each other only to realize there was something immensely abnormal about them.

Andrew smiled and searched for something to move, and once his eyes fell on an open delivery truck, he had to use that as an example. “Watch,” he said, nodding towards the back of the truck. He focused on the basket of fresh fruits and vegetables right on the edge, and carefully picked up the sides of it and telepathically moved it to the other side of the street. “See? Not very impressive, compared to yours,” he said, snickering at Keira’s expression and laughing even harder when the delivery man came out of the building and noticed the basket was gone.

Keira watched him as he moved the basket without even touching it, she stared at him and stared back at the truck. ”Are you kidding me Andrew!?” She asked her eyes wide. “I can’t believe this,” she laughed along with him at the confused man. She turned back to him, “so you can move things with your mind? So you’re a telepath, that’s so amazing. ” She stopped to think, a million questions going through her mind, “are there others like you?”

“I can also fly,” he boasted, wiggling his eyebrows as he floated just enough in the air so that his toes touched the ground. He free fell back down quickly to avoid suspicion. Once the other question came up, he thought about whether or not to tell her. But why not? He trusted her. “Yeah, there’s three more that I know of. You never know, though. Are there any more of your kind?”

Keira’s eyes widened as she saw Andrew lift from the ground, “okay, your powers are way cooler than mine. But I can move more than people with me when I jump,” she said proudly. “There’s jumpers all over the world but I’m not sure how many. We keep to ourselves most of the time.” She grinned, “this is so weird…let’s go have some fun.”

“No way! Sure, I can fly, but I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t even be able to make it across the ocean,” Andrew pondered, looking around at his surroundings. Just a few minutes ago, he was in Seattle. But now he was in Rome! When he tried to wrap his head around things, but once his head started hurting, he turned towards Keira and shot her a huge grin. “What’s your definition of fun?”

“I figured as much,” Andrew chuckled back, slowly opening his eyes to keep himself from falling asleep. He watched the neighbor’s porch light across the street until it started to burn his eyes. The next thing that came from Church surprised Andrew. Since when did he whine? Andrew didn’t even know Church was capable of doing such thing. Finally, with a sigh and one last rub of the eyes, he replied. “Fine. Where do you want to meet?”

Church eventually placed one arm down his side and held his iPhone with the other. After listening to Andrew talk a bit, he smiled at his answer. “Sweet! Uh… at the spot we ever first met! Near that one convince store, you remember, right? Yea… like in twenty minutes be there.” church grew a smile across his face and proceeded to hang out. Fixing his jacket, he slid his iPhone back into his pants pocket and began to walk… walk about ten feet before reaching where he had mentioned previously on the call.
